Job Summary:

The Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for reviewing medication orders, dispensing medications and related supplies, monitoring patient medication therapies, providing drug information to healthcare providers and clients, and overseeing the work of direct support personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with inter-professional teams to optimize drug therapy.
  • Provide direct patient care, including treatment assessment and medication management activities.
  • Monitor for potential adverse drug reactions, interactions, and medication side-effects.
  • Assess laboratory results.
  • Document all pharmacy recommendations accurately and completely.
  • Evaluate and educate others on medical literature.
  • Conduct medication education groups for patients.
  • Teach other healthcare students, residents, and practitioners.
  • Refer patients to other services as needed.
  • Communicate frequently with clients to report outcomes, establish priorities, and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Respond to client requests for information.
  • Analyze client reports to identify additional clinical opportunities to present to the client.
  • Lead the development of psychiatric clinical program enhancements and best practices.
  • Comply with all state and federal pharmacy regulations and requirements.
  • Demonstrate and utilize professional knowledge, skills, and competency to provide safe and effective drug therapy.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree and licensed in the State of Colorado.
  • Proof of current pharmacist license required.
  • Board Certification in psychiatric pharmacy (BCPP).
  • Preferred qualifications include completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency or work experience equivalent to a PGY-2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency.
