PDS Tech Commercial, Inc is seeking a Hybrid Lead Cost Accountant.

Position Type: Full Time; Consultant (3 Years)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Working Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Compensation: $49.08 per hour

Role Summary:

The Lead Cost Accountant will report directly to the Finance Manager and will be instrumental in overseeing cost and management accounting, financial reporting, analysis, month-end financial closure, and audit activities. This position demands excellent communication skills and strong analytical capabilities.

This role is hybrid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management
    • Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate reconciliations between physical counts, perpetual records, and general ledger entries.
    • Lead the preparation and execution of annual standard cost roll.
    • Manage the establishment of annual labor and overhead rates.
    • Supervise the processes for determining standard costs for new components and reviewing existing parts.
    • Analyze warranty costs and reserves, as well as excess and obsolete inventory reserves.
    • Examine purchase price variance accounts for discrepancies.
    • Audit cycle count activities and collaborate with the materials team to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
    • Prepare and analyze sales and gross margin reports at the customer/product level.
    • Assist in the annual financial planning and budgeting processes.
    • Report on labor and expenditures related to engineering projects.
    • Provide cost support to various departments as needed.
    • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of product cost data.
    • Conduct ad-hoc analyses as required.
  • General Accounting
    • Prepare account reconciliations.
    • Conduct monthly closing activities, including journal entry preparation.
    • Support other finance roles as necessary.
    • Assist in financial planning and analysis when required.
  • Financial Reporting/SOX Compliance
    • Assist in SOX compliance audits and both internal and external audits.
    • Document work instructions for all processes and tasks.
  • Financial Systems Management
    • Ensure the integrity of the SAP system and the accuracy of general ledger and cost accounting data.
    • Develop financial reporting using various financial systems (HFM, One Stream, SAP).
  • Bid Support
    • Provide assistance for bids on new contracts.
    • Manage cost accounting requirements to support sales, marketing, and customer service quotations.

Required Qualifications:

  • A University Degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • This position is open only to US Citizens, US Persons, and Green Card Holders due to government regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HFM/One Stream is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Capability to collaborate with individuals and teams at all organizational levels.

Compensation Details: $49.08 per hour
