We are seeking an exceptional Medical Director to lead our primary care team in Texas. This is a Permanent, Bilingual Spanish opportunity that offers a total compensation package exceeding $300K, depending on experience.
About the Role
This role involves evaluating and treating patients in accordance with standards of care, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes, and collaborating with the care team to deliver integrated care services.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat center patients in accordance with standards of care.
- Follow level of medical care and quality for patients and monitor care using available data and chart reviews.
- Assist in coordinating patient services, including specialty referrals, hospital coordination, durable medical equipment, and home health care.
- Act as an active participant and key source of medical expertise with the care team through daily huddles.
- Collaborate with Regional Medical Director and Center Administrator to set a tone of cooperation in practice.
- Complete all medical record documentation in a timely manner, working with quality-based coders to optimize coding specificity.
- Follow policy and protocol defined by Clinical Leadership.
- Meet with RMD about quality of care, review outcome data, policy, procedure, and records issues.
- Participate in potential growth opportunities for new or existing services within the Center.
- Participate in local primary care on-call program as needed.
Requirements
We require:
- A current, unrestricted medical license or willingness to obtain a medical license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited MD or DO program from an accredited university.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated skill with interpersonal relationships and communications with colleagues/patients.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to practice in a value-based care setting.
- Superior patient/customer service.
- Basic computer skills, including email and EMR.
Preferred Qualifications
- Board Certification or eligibility to become certified (ABMS or AOA) in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine.
- Active and unrestricted DEA license.
- Medicare Provider Number.
- Medicaid Provider Number.
- Minimum two to five years directly applicable experience.
- Experience managing Medicare Advantage panel of patients with understanding of Best Practice in coordinated care environment.
- Knowledge of Medicare guidelines and coverage.
- Bilingual proficiency.
- Knowledge of HEDIS quality indicators.
