Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition.
  • Provide support to the Food Service Manager in the preparation of meals.
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, plasticware, and cutlery in the prescribed manner.
  • Assist in storing food and supply deliveries.
  • Set up banquet tables for special events.
  • Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors.
  • Deliver food carts to and from dining room pantries.
  • Report equipment and supply needs to the Assistant Director.
  • Attend in-service training classes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand dietary instructions and fluent in English language (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
