Job Summary

Job Summary & Essential Functions:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Facilities, performs routine tasks in the maintenance and repair of the Bishop Alemany High School campus, and related facilities and equipment. Supports Bishop Alemany events and functions, both on weekdays and weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Cleaning and Maintenance: Performs custodial duties such as cleaning, maintaining and repairing fixtures, equipment and appliances.
  2. Set-up/Break-down: Sets up and breaks down furniture and equipment for events as needed.
  3. Maintenance Support: Provides maintenance support to Director of Facilities.
  4. Preventive Maintenance: Performs routine preventive maintenance functions for facilities and systems.
  5. Installation: Assists with the installation of facility and systems materials, fixtures and mechanical equipment.
  6. Repairs: Makes simple interior and exterior repairs, including repairs to bathroom vanity equipment, office furniture, fences and gates.
  7. Painting: Interior and exterior walls, paint markings on asphalt, floor and equipment.
  8. Lubrication: Lubricates fans, motors, pumps and cooling.
  9. Grounds Maintenance: Assists with maintenance of grounds, gardens, trees and irrigation systems.
  10. Record Keeping: Prepares and submits records of work performed.
  11. Reporting: Observes, notes and communicates interior and exterior facility issues for repair.
Requirements / Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years facilities maintenance experience.
  • Basic carpentry, plumbing and repair skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently perform tasks requiring climbing, crouching, kneeling, stooping and bending.
  • Ability to stand and walk for sustained periods of time.
