Role Responsibilities and QualificationsThe Acute Care Nursing Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care. Collaborating with medical professionals, the RN will provide pre-operative and post-operative support while advocating for patients to ensure an exceptional healthcare experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, promptly reporting any changes.
- Execute procedures as directed by medical providers.
- Document care provided in the patient medical record accurately and timely.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment relevant to cardiac and medical-surgical care.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN program with completion within five years of hire.
- Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Nursing.
- Licensure: Current RN license with the North Carolina Board of Nursing; eNLC license may apply.
- Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
- Preferred Certification: National certification in a specialty area.
- Experience: One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
