Job Summary
The Medical University of South Carolina seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Development to lead the fundraising efforts for the Children's Health department. This is a key leadership position that requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of success in development and fundraising.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet the goals of the institution.
- Lead and manage a team of development professionals to achieve fundraising goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, alumni, and community leaders.
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Develop and manage a portfolio of 50+ major and principal prospects.
- Meet or exceed an annual individual fundraising goal of $4,000,000-$6,000,000.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible development experience, including a proven track record of personal fundraising results.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
The ability to perform job functions in an upright position, seated position, and while walking/mobile. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather and temperature extremes. Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs., unassisted.
