Job Summary: The School of Music at Southern Nazarene University is seeking a qualified instructor to teach applied low brass lessons to music majors and non-majors. The ideal candidate will be committed to teaching excellence, innovation, and program development.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Teach applied lessons in low brass (Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba)
  • Collaborate with the Director of Bands in program development and recruitment efforts
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A strong personal Christian commitment and alignment with the SNU mission
  • A Master's degree in music
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience and/or relevant training
  • Experience teaching low brass at the high school level
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Doctorate degree in music
  • Experience teaching at the university level
  • An established performance career
  • Evidence of the ability to recruit and retain quality students

Supervision and Work Environment: Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor. May be responsible for the coordination of work assignments for student employees.
