Job Title:

Part-Time Lecturer in Child and Adolescent Studies

Job Summary:

The Department of Child and Adolescent Studies at California State University, Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We seek qualified individuals to teach courses in child development, professional communication, assessment, research methods, and other related areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach courses in child development, including infancy to middle childhood, middle childhood through adolescence, and other related areas.
  • Develop and implement course syllabi, assignments, and assessments.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to students in a classroom setting.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
Requirements:
  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Child Development, Developmental Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching in higher education, preferably in a diverse student population.
  • Strong background in child development theory and research.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations.
  • Relevant performance and professional experience.

Appointment and Salary:

Part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only.

Performance Evaluation:

Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070.
