About the Role

The Quality Assurance Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality within our organization. This position involves:
  • Client-Centric Approach: Executing tests tailored to client specifications, compiling comprehensive reports with test results, and collaborating with technical teams to provide timely and precise responses to inquiries related to testing.
  • Equipment Oversight: Guaranteeing the optimal functioning and upkeep of all laboratory apparatus, in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Documentation & Regulatory Compliance: Crafting and upholding standard operating procedures (SOPs) that align with regulatory standards and industry benchmarks such as AS9100.
  • Safety & Material Evaluation: Evaluating the safety compliance of new machinery and raw materials.
  • Inventory Management: Supervising the acquisition of laboratory supplies and the preventive maintenance of facility equipment.
  • Technical Support: Offering technical guidance through various communication channels and preparing technical reports on tested items, including any issues encountered.
  • Interdepartmental Communication: Promoting clear and effective dialogue among various teams within the organization.
  • Safety Procedures: Managing and testing samples in accordance with established safety protocols.
  • Management Responsiveness: Addressing management requests in a timely manner.
  • Quality Audits: Performing quality and safety audits as necessary.
  • Quality Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements.
  • Problem Resolution: Understanding processes to engage cross-functional teams in addressing quality and process capability challenges.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Quality Assurance Specialist position will possess:
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Professional Experience:
    • A minimum of 5 years in a quality control or process engineering role within a manufacturing setting.
    • Demonstrated experience in various laboratory testing methodologies and producing accurate test documentation.
    • A solid grasp of quality control principles and practices.
    • Experience with laboratory equipment and software utilized in quality control (e.g., Laboratory Management software).
    • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is advantageous.
  • Skill Set:
    • Exceptional organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Understanding of manufacturing processes and the value chain.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret key operational metrics.
    • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Quality Improvement:
    • Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.
    • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and a proven history in problem-solving and root cause analysis.
    • Understanding of statistical methods and their application in quality control.
  • Additional Preferences:
    • Experience in material or analytical laboratory testing.
    • Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a plus.
    • Experience with adhesive testing is preferred.
