Job SummaryThe Medical Biller will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day accounting functions of the facility, including following up on insurance claims, posting cash, and running insurance eligibility. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement, billing, and accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities- Follow up on insurance claims and ensure timely payment
- Post cash and manage facility finances
- Run insurance eligibility and verify coverage
- Provide support to the front desk reception as needed
- Offer excellent customer service to family and residents
- High school diploma or equivalent required; BA degree in Accounting or Business preferred
- Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred
- Ability to understand and implement healthcare reimbursement, billing, and accounting principles
- Knowledge of basic nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care

The Medical Biller will work closely with the Assistant Business Office Manager to establish and maintain financial files for all residents, prepare accurate and timely billing, and actively manage the collection process.
