Job DescriptionPOSITION TITLE: Evening Maintenance Supervisor
PURPOSE:
This role encompasses a diverse range of job conditions and off-hour responsibilities for plant facilities, which are distinctive to the Maintenance function (2 p.m. - 10 p.m., but subject to change). The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the Maintenance departments to develop and execute repair, construction, and preventive maintenance schedules aimed at maximizing the operational availability of production equipment and facilities across the plant and office areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Implement and manage cost-effective operational methods for the Plant Maintenance Department.
- Ensure the availability of tools and equipment in the plants through timely and dependable maintenance.
- Guarantee a well-trained and adequately motivated workforce and supervisory team.
- Foster safe and well-maintained departmental environments.
- Initiate operational enhancements through innovative maintenance strategies.
- Oversee and manage the preventative maintenance program for plant and equipment.
- Contribute to the company's current and long-term budgetary equipment rehabilitation initiatives in alignment with company objectives.
- Effectively interpret and enforce company policies and agreements consistent with sound management practices.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree and/or technical certification and/or equivalent work experience.
- Strong technical and mechanical knowledge.
- Proven expertise in heavy industry mechanical systems, including High Pressure Hydraulics, furnaces, and Grit Blasting equipment.
- Preferred 4 years of experience in Heavy Manufacturing (steelmaking, automotive, or forging preferred).
- Experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with maintenance planning and CMMS systems is a plus.
- Basic electrical maintenance skills.
- Proficient computer skills: data management and analysis; word processing; spreadsheets, email, and internet usage.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Working conditions may be hazardous, dirty, and subject to extreme weather and temperature variations.
- Must be available on an on-call basis (24/7) to address issues and concerns.
