Role Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner will play a crucial role in supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs by conducting thorough assessments for Veterans transitioning from military service or seeking disability benefits.

The Advanced Practice Provider will engage in face-to-face evaluations with Veterans, completing the necessary Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) to facilitate VA eligibility determinations. This involves direct clinical examinations, including assessments of joint mobility and other relevant health indicators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding care to Veterans during all interactions.
  • Accurately and promptly complete all required documentation, including DBQs, adhering to the specified formats.
  • Exhibit operational excellence by providing exceptional customer service and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Utilize clinical expertise for data collection and analysis, fostering strong relationships with patients.

Qualifications:

Education: Master's degree (Required)

Certification: Family or Adult Certification (Required)

Licensure: Active Nurse Practitioner License in the state of employment

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in primary care, internal medicine, or occupational medicine preferred. Experience with the Veteran population or federal health organizations is a plus.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in major Electronic Health Records and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays required.

Additional Requirements:

Current BLS Certification is mandatory.

Immunizations required include:

  • TB Screening (within the last year)
  • Hep B Titers (within the last year)

Immunizations Strongly Recommended:

  • COVID vaccination and boosters
  • MMR Titers (within the last year)
  • Varicella Titers (within the last year)
  • TDAP Immunization (within the last 10 years)
  • Flu Immunization (current season)
