We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN to join our team at Mercy Hospital Downtown - Bakersfield. This role involves providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic environment.
Certification Requirements- Certifications: BLS, ACLS; Chemo certification is a plus.
- CERNER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Facility: A healthcare facility in California is in need of a skilled MedSurg/Tele/Oncology nurse for a travel contract.
- Unit: MedSurg/Oncology
- Bed Capacity: 27 beds
- Shifts: 7 AM and 7 PM
- Floating: May require floating to other MedSurg units.
- Common Patient Diagnoses: General medical surgical, GYN, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, some spine and joint cases; patients may not be on active chemotherapy while on the oncology side of the unit.
- The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, and California nursing license.
- Weekend Requirement: One weekend shift every two weeks.
- Orientation: One shift for Cerner training if necessary, followed by two shifts on the unit.
- Preference for nurses with Cerner experience, strong central line skills, and a passion for compassionate patient care and education.
- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 5 patients for MedSurg, 1 nurse to 4 patients for chemo/tele patients.
- Charge Nurse: Nurse Shift Managers do not take patient assignments; a resource nurse is available to assist with tasks and breaks.
- Nurse Aides: Target of 2 per shift.
- Holidays: 2 major holidays and 1 minor holiday.
- Scrub Color: Navy.
- Telehealth: Remote telehealth support with monitoring technicians.
- Ventilator Support: None required.
- Hospitalist Availability: In-house 24/7.
- IV Team: No dedicated IV team, but a resource nurse is available for assistance; specialized team for PICC and midline placements.
- Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7.
- Pharmacy Services: Available 24/7.
- On-call Requirements: None.
