Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Police Officer to join our team as a School Resource Officer. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and staff in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide law enforcement services to our schools, ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for students and staff.
  • Build relationships with students, parents, and school officials to prevent crime and promote a positive school culture.
  • Develop and implement crime prevention programs and strategies to reduce juvenile crime and disorder.
  • Conduct investigations and gather evidence to support the prosecution of crimes.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to share resources and best practices.
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest law enforcement techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Three years of experience as a TCOLE certified Police Officer; experience as a School Resource Officer preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and a United States citizen.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, CJIS, and fingerprint check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) Basic School Resource Officer Certification.
  • Experience working in a school setting or with youth populations.
  • Knowledge of crisis management and response procedures.
Work Environment

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to stress, trauma, and high-stress situations. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality in sensitive situations.
