Position Overview:

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team. The HVAC Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC systems. This role involves troubleshooting and servicing equipment to ensure optimal performance, as well as conducting tests and analyzing data to confirm proper functionality. The technician must have a solid understanding of control operations and the sequence of operations for HVAC systems in commercial and industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install replacement components and equipment according to manufacturer specifications to maintain warranties.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on HVACR systems in line with established standards.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair HVACR issues in compliance with EPA standards.
  • Adhere to maintenance schedules to ensure timely completion of equipment maintenance and accurate operating logs.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including timesheets, service reports, and expense reports.
  • Engage in general tasks such as safety training, team meetings, and upkeep of tools and vehicles.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of an HVAC Apprenticeship Program preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in HVAC systems within commercial or industrial environments.
  • Ability to read and understand technical instructions, safety policies, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficient in writing reports and effectively presenting information in various settings.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems, along with basic mathematical skills.
  • Capability to interpret blueprints and technical schematics.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • EPA universal refrigeration license.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • FDNY Fire Watch and Burning Permits.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands for handling equipment.
  • Occasional sitting, reaching, climbing, and lifting of up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment:

  • Regular exposure to mechanical parts and electrical hazards.
  • Occasional exposure to wet conditions, high places, and extreme temperatures.
  • May require personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes and hearing protection.
