Unit Insights:
The 3F unit is a specialized 24-bed Telemetry environment dedicated to our comprehensive stroke initiative. This unit focuses on the management of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), and Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) cases. Additionally, it accommodates orthopedic patients as needed, receiving transfers from Intensive Care Units (ICU), Emergency Departments (ED), and Post-Anesthesia Care Units (PACU).

Work Schedule:
Full-time, Night Shifts

Role Responsibilities:


The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering professional nursing care that prioritizes the patient as a whole and fosters a nurturing atmosphere aimed at healing and wellness.


  • S/he respects the dignity and individuality of each patient, honoring their mind, body, and spirit.
  • Nursing practices are grounded in evidence-based research, adhering to hospital and departmental policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.
  • Clinical judgment incorporates all phases of the nursing process, emphasizing critical thinking and creativity.
  • Nursing excellence is cultivated through collaborative relationships among nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams.
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) exemplifies compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy, reinforcing nursing as a distinct profession and supporting a healing-focused environment.
  • In this clinical role, the RN dedicates the majority of their time (over 50%) to coordinating, ensuring, and delivering direct patient care through activities such as nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; facilitating admissions, transfers, and discharges; providing patient and family-centered education; and coordinating care and individualized treatment planning as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Candidates with an Associate's degree and less than 10 years of experience must enroll in a Bachelor's degree program within 12 months of hire and complete the degree within 5 years.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP certification and successful completion of a dysrhythmia class as required by the department of assignment.
