Job Summary:

Amergis is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team in a school setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students and be able to develop and implement effective physical therapy plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform student evaluations and develop individualized physical therapy plans
  • Provide and document therapy services in accordance with the plan of care
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to modify the plan of care as needed
  • Participate in developing the plan of care in collaboration with the physician and other members of the healthcare team
  • Assess and evaluate student physical needs and provide a complete physical assessment and history of current and previous illnesses
  • Assess muscle strength, mobility, gait, and Range of Motion (ROM)
  • Provide physical therapy treatment and establish physical therapy plan of care
  • Train students in the use of prosthetic devices and other assistive devices
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants according to company policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy
  • One (1) year of prior professional Physical Therapy experience preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
