Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Accounting Technician to join our team at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service. As a Lead Accounting Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and support to our accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the accounting team on financial transactions, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Maintain compliance with financial regulations and policies, including the Federal Financial Management Improvement Act and the Government Accountability Office's (GAO) financial management standards.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting team.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial management and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and policies, including the Federal Financial Management Improvement Act and the GAO's financial management standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with other departments and stakeholders.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, with a regular schedule of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
