About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital. As a key member of our Breast Imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform mammographic imaging exams on patients, including screening and diagnostic mammograms, tomosynthesis, wire localizations, ductograms, cyst aspiration, and core biopsies.
  • Assist radiologists with breast ultrasound exams and provide education to patients regarding exam procedures.
  • Ensure all images are transmitted to the PACS system and exams are completed in the hospital's electronic medical record.
  • Maintain working knowledge and perform accurate data entry into the hospital and department electronic medical record.
  • Provide radiation protection to patients in accordance with ALARA principles and department policy.
  • Assist physicians in the performance of invasive procedures, including preparing medications and practicing sterile technique.
  • Instruct and advise Radiologic Technology students in performing mammographic exams.
  • Perform duties such as transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and positioning patients.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Valid Massachusetts license as a Radiologic Technologist in the category of Radiography.
  • Valid Massachusetts license in the category of Mammography in addition to Radiography.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • 2-3 years of experience as a radiologic technologist.
  • Knowledge of quality control tests and regulations, including MQSA, ARC, and Mass State mammography regulations.
