Crisis Intervention Specialist

At Alleghany Highlands Community Services, we are seeking a skilled Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our team of mental health professionals. This role involves conducting face-to-face assessments of individuals in crisis and determining the least restrictive treatment option. You will work closely with law enforcement, magistrates, private providers, hospital medical staff, and other community stakeholders to provide comprehensive support to those experiencing an emotional crisis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-hospitalization screenings and secure psychiatric bed space as needed
- Provide crisis intervention to clients and their families via telephone or in-person
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and assessments to determine treatment levels and referrals to community-based services
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology
- One year of experience working with individuals with mental health/substance use disorders
- LPC, LCSW, LCP, or Licensed Eligible
- Valid driver's license
