Job Summary

The Janitor is responsible for ensuring a hygienic and orderly environment by performing a variety of cleaning tasks essential for the upkeep of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Polish and clean furniture to uphold a professional appearance.
• Wash windows and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions and tools.
• Dust surfaces including furniture, walls, and equipment to prevent accumulation of dirt.
• Adhere to safety protocols when using chemical cleaners and equipment to avoid damage.
• Collect and dispose of waste in a timely manner.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
• Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water and detergents as per guidelines.
• Service and maintain restrooms to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
• Perform floor maintenance including stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing.
• Monitor the facility for maintenance needs such as repairs and lighting issues.
• Ensure safe operations by following established safety procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bilingual skills are advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to interact courteously with staff and visitors.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent to continuous standing and walking.
• Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling.
• Frequent gripping and manipulation of tools and equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. occasionally.

Working Conditions

This role operates in environments with moderate to loud noise levels and involves working outdoors in various weather conditions. The position may require proximity to moving mechanical parts and the use of standard heavy equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment

Employees are required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed shoes as necessary.
