Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (or an equivalent recognized body) with special qualifications in hematology and/or medical oncology.

For hematology, the candidate should possess additional training to specialize in diagnosing and treating malignant disorders of the blood, spleen, and lymphatic system. This role involves utilizing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted biologic therapies for conditions such as leukemia, lymphoma, and plasma cell neoplasms.

For medical oncology, the candidate should have further training to specialize in diagnosing and treating various cancers affecting solid organs. This position requires the use of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted biologic therapies for multiple organ system cancers.

The candidate will practice medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center.

As a member of the Moffitt Medical Group, the individual will provide patient care and contribute to the academic medical enterprise.

This role spans clinical and research initiatives, supporting patient care, research, and education, while advancing the institutional mission of cancer prevention and cure.

The Chief will determine the allocation of the position's efforts across clinical, research, educational, and administrative functions.

Education and Licensure Requirements:

  • MD or equivalent degree
  • Board certified (or eligible) in Hematology/Oncology
  • Successful completion of an accredited Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology
  • Florida Medical License
  • DEA License
  • ACLS certification as required by privileges granted through Medical Staff
