Job Summary

Swedish Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch patient care by providing essential anesthesia support during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and organize equipment and supplies for scheduled and emergent cases in anesthetizing locations.
  • Review present and future surgical schedules to ensure anesthesia staff have the essential equipment and supplies necessary for routine and challenging cases.
  • Transport and set up equipment needed for procedures, including laryngoscope blades, monitors, EKG cables, ETCO2 lines, pulse oximetry cables, temperature cables, and oxygen tanks/tubing.
  • Assure equipment is decontaminated and in good working condition before each procedure.
  • Follow department procedures for proper procurement and handling of non-controlled medications, I.V. fluids, contrast media, and irrigating fluids in the surgical services area.
  • Perform thorough, prompt room turnover between procedures, including cleaning and disinfection, restocking of anesthesia supplies, and cleaning/storing of anesthesia equipment and instrumentation as needed.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot minor malfunctions of anesthesia equipment. Remove and report all damaged or unsafe equipment.
  • Respond promptly to on-call situations as scheduled.
Requirements
  • Current BLS Certification through AHA or ARC.
  • 1-2 years of experience preferred.
