About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Hair Stylist to join our team at Douglas J Companies. As a Hair Design Expert, you will be responsible for providing exceptional haircuts and styling services to our clients, while also building strong relationships and driving guest retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consultation and Service Delivery: Provide thorough consultations to assess clients' ideal images, evaluating face shape, hair texture, and at-home maintenance preferences. Perform individualized services to achieve clients' ideal cuts or styles using cutting and styling techniques and products.
  • Guest Education and Retention: Educate clients on achieving their look at home using the salon's product lines and recommended styling techniques. Build relationships with clients and make pre-booking recommendations to attain guest retention.
  • Technical Skills and Growth: Continuously grow your technical skills and compensation through our level system, focusing on continuing education, guest retention, and delivery of at-home care recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Cosmetology License: State of Michigan Cosmetology License
  • Personality and Skills: Charismatic, approachable personality with a passion for hair design. Personal drive to advance your skills and career.
  • Experience: Experience working with Aveda cutting and styling techniques and products is a plus.
