About the Role

A Physical Therapist with Riverside Health System carries out an individualized program for patients with acute and chronic health conditions to maximize their quality of life and achieve their functional goals. The Physical Therapist may work in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations to determine PT diagnoses and develop personalized plans of care.
  • Perform physical therapy procedures to aid in restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, and preventing permanent physical disability.
  • Evaluate and assess patients timely, based on principles outlined by practice guidelines, evidence-based guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Build trusting relationships with healthcare professionals and ancillary staff to support patient care needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Train and support team members, volunteers, and students to enhance patient care.
  • Modify treatment plans to maximize therapeutic benefit and meet discharge criteria.
  • Record patient progress and update plans of care based on testing results and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Educate patients and family members about the recovery process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy (Required)
  • 1 year of Physical Therapy experience (Required)
  • License to practice Physical Therapy in Virginia (Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification (Required)
