Geosyntec Consultants is seeking an Experienced Geologist to enhance our geoenvironmental and geotechnical team. This role will utilize geological expertise in projects related to pipeline systems, dams, dikes, mines, and various infrastructure initiatives while simultaneously honing essential business acumen for a prosperous consulting career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field and office tasks related to surface and subsurface geotechnical, geological, and geohazard investigations;
  • Oversee the development, installation, and management of monitoring instrumentation;
  • Engage in diverse project opportunities across environmental, geotechnical, stormwater, and sediment domains;
  • Utilize remote sensing data for geohazard identification and monitoring;
  • Manage geologic/geohazard data using ArcGIS databases;
  • Prepare reports and visual representations;
  • Assist in proposal development and other business growth initiatives;
  • Depending on experience, take on task-level or project management duties, including business development.

Training Requirements: This position necessitates OSHA health and safety, first aid, CPR training, and medical monitoring, all covered by the firm. We also provide professional development opportunities, including seminars, webinars, and mentoring to help our professionals acquire the technical and business skills essential for success in consulting.

Fieldwork: Up to 70%
Overnight Travel: Varies based on assignments

Education and Licensure:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (required);
  • Advanced degree in the same field (preferred);
  • Professional registration (e.g., P.E., P.G.) (preferred).

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (required);
  • Strong foundation in geology or geotechnical engineering principles (required);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (required);
  • Familiarity with applied software (e.g., gINT, ArcGIS) and numerical methods using spreadsheets (preferred);
  • Willingness to perform fieldwork and travel (required);
  • Ability to lift and/or move 30 to 49 pounds unaided (required);
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred);
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required;
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
