The role of the Corrosion Control Technician is to lead and mentor team members in various tasks while executing essential construction and survey activities as detailed below.
Key Responsibilities:
Survey Responsibilities:
- Conducting a variety of surveys including CIS, DCVG, ACVG, among others
- Gathering GPS data for accurate location tracking
- Locating pipelines effectively
- Performing soil resistivity assessments
- Identifying and resolving stray current interference issues
- Implementing AC mitigation strategies
- Conducting system identification
- Utilizing hand tools and voltage measuring devices
Construction Responsibilities:
- Employing hand and power tools for various tasks
- Operating construction machinery
- Engaging in excavation and potholing activities
- Executing conduit installation work
- Setting up electrical panels
- Carrying out cathodic protection activities
Additional Responsibilities:
- Working autonomously or collaboratively with teams
- Driving company vehicles as required
- Completing daily logs and timesheets
- Performing other assigned tasks as necessary
Qualifications:
- Must possess NACE CP-1 certification along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in corrosion-related fields
- Valid driver's license is required
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening
- Basic proficiency in computer and smartphone usage
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Willingness to travel frequently and work overtime
- Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions
- Capability to lift, walk, and operate hand tools
- Driving in various environmental conditions
Employment Type:
Compensation: $19.50/hr with potential for pay increases
