Job Overview:

Komatsu is seeking a skilled Mine Electrical Support Technician to provide electrical mine support and troubleshooting services at Peabody's North Antelope Rochelle Mine. In this role, you will work with a variety of electrical systems, including resistively grounded electrical systems, electrical protective devices, and PLC systems.

You will have the opportunity to use mine electrical test equipment, such as Meggers and Cable Fault Locators, and travel to various locations as needed. To be successful in this position, you must have a thorough understanding of motor controls, circuit installations, and general troubleshooting.

A valid MSHA certification and a clean driving record are also required. The estimated salary for this position is $140,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include a competitive hourly rate, company vehicle, paid travel time, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide electrical mine support and troubleshooting services
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and identify issues
  • Wire delta-wye and wye-delta transformer connections
  • Perform electric motor troubleshooting diagnostics
  • Understand and work with PLC systems
  • Change high voltage power cables
  • Troubleshoot controls and power systems
  • Understand analog, I/O used in plant control systems
  • Splice low voltage cables
  • Use mine electrical test equipment
Requirements:
  • Equivalent technical college education
  • Over 5 years of experience with motor controls and circuit installations
