About the Role

Fanatics, a leading sports fan destination, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager of Royalty Accounting to join our team. As a key member of our Accounting Shared Services function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of royalty revenue accounting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Royalty Revenue Accounting: Accurately calculate and classify royalty revenue on the Income Statement, reconcile related Assets and Liabilities on the Balance Sheet, and ensure contractual revenue share obligations are met with clients.
  • Supervise Royalty Staff Accountant: Oversee the process of reviewing and analyzing licensees' royalty reporting for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with license agreement requirements.
  • License Agreement Management: Thoroughly understand license agreements and monitor to ensure contractual obligations are met throughout all business interactions across assigned licensees.
  • Client Communication: Manage day-to-day professional working relationships with a wide range of licensees across multiple product categories, communicate client/corporate initiatives and strategies as needed, and provide trend analysis.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Create and evaluate quarterly and annual royalty revenue reports for clients and provide trend analysis.
  • Process Improvement: Monitor and make recommendations to improve business processes and efficiencies across the organization.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Experience: 4-7 years of accounting experience, preferably with royalty accounting exposure, with at least 3 years spent directly managing others.
  • Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, proficiency in interpreting contracts, and strong analytical skills.
  • Leadership: A motivated self-starter with ability to excel at multi-tasking and staying organized, and a leader capable of using professional judgment to manage the team's priorities and workload.
