Automation Engineering Technician

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineering Technician to join our team at 1925 GlaxoSmithKline LLC. As a key member of our Controls and Instrumentation team, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting complex automation systems, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers, AC/DC motors, motor starters, phase power distribution, solid-state logic, process instrumentation, and VFDs.
- Manage and maintain the robotics Ethernet data network, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot microprocessor-based systems, measurement-optical systems, vision systems, controls, and programming at the micro-controller and PLC levels.
- Install and repair electrical equipment from written specifications, including blueprints, equipment manuals, engineering sketches, and verbal instructions.
- Respond to internal customer needs and requests professionally, effectively, and efficiently.
- Provide recommendations for standardization and establishing quantities of critical electrical spares.
- Perform all job responsibilities in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain current knowledge of cGMP and FDA guidelines relevant to the role.
- Associate degree and 3+ years' experience in control-design electromechanical maintenance and controls, or 5+ years' experience in controls/maintenance engineering.
- Strong teamwork capability and substantiated evidence of partnering with others to achieve performance goals.
- Bachelor's degree and/or 5+ years' experience in industrial machine controls (design or build or support).
- Knowledge in a highly technical advanced control setting.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with others and work across boundaries.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Knowledge to seek opportunities to receive additional training from automation courses.
- Flexibility to work overtime and change shifts as needed.
- Prior experience in controls/maintenance engineering, preferably in a pharmaceutical facility engineering environment.
