We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our local operations team, focusing on production-level tasks in a dynamic manufacturing setting. This role involves assembling components in accordance with engineering guidelines, utilizing both hand tools and portable power tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and manage equipment for all hand spray applications, ensuring optimal settings for KV, gun-to-part distance, and airflow for effective coating application.
- Understand and implement parts preparation procedures to enhance the final product's appearance.
- Engage in training to master operations related to painting equipment and emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with paint delivery systems, including P Mix and Pressure Pots, along with maintaining cleanliness of these systems.
- Demonstrate proficiency in manual spray techniques.
- Monitor and document equipment indicators, including gauges and dials.
- Conduct visual and mechanical inspections to ensure adequate coating thickness and address any quality concerns.
- Log and interpret data regarding oven temperatures and air supply conditions.
- Maintain a safe and organized working environment.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in wet paint application, preferably in the automotive sector.
- Experience in buffing, polishing, or wet sanding for at least 1 year.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and motivate team members.
- Proactive in identifying needs and developing solutions.
- Preferred experience in inventory management.
- Hands-on experience with Primer, Basecoat, and Clear coat hand applications.
- Capable of performing all essential duties of the position.
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently.
Work Environment:
- Employees may frequently work near moving mechanical parts and occasionally in elevated positions or with airborne particles. The noise level is typically moderate.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity are essential, with occasional sitting required.
