We are seeking a highly skilled Litigation Attorney to join our Legal team at Ascendant Insurance Solutions, a full-service Managing General Agency based in Florida. As a fast-growing and diverse company, we offer a comprehensive suite of benefits and competitive compensation packages.

About the Role:

We are looking for an attorney with at least 5-7 years of litigation experience, preferably in negligence cases with multiple verdicts and a proven trial record. Experience in public transportation and commercial automobile insurance defense is a plus. The successful candidate will be responsible for defending high exposure negligence claims for our insureds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage all aspects of the litigation case, including litigating cases to verdict and demonstrating superior use of trial skills and techniques.
  • Provide guidance and counsel through effective communication, independently handling a full to moderate caseload with moderate level and complexity from case inception through trial resolution.
  • Demonstrate exceptional legal research and writing skills, independently drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other file documents.
  • Attend court events, hearings, and other appointments independently, learning and understanding claim customers' expectations and key department business goals.
  • Provide recommendations and case analysis to department head on appropriate file handling strategy, integrating legal support staff into the case handling process.
  • Provide advice and training to claim partners and clients, creating and maintaining software documentation.

Requirements:

  • Must be admitted to the State Bar of Florida & actively licensed to practice law.
  • Must have a Juris Doctor degree.
  • 5-7 years of litigation experience.
  • Extremely detail oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined.
  • Demonstrated track record of trial skills and techniques.
  • Ability to work in a paperless and virtual environment.
