Job Details

We are seeking an experienced MedSurg RN for a travel contract at St Michael Medical Center in Washington.

Certification Requirements
  • Active BLS certification is required.
  • RNs must be able to read basic strips.
Job Requirements
  • 2 full years of experience in MedSurg is required.
  • Hold an active BLS and WA License.
Schedule Information
  • Days and NOC shifts are available.
  • 6 week cycles with every other weekend.
  • Holiday Requirement: yes.
Unit Specific Information
  • Unit: Med/Surg/Ortho 2nd Floor.
  • # of beds: 34.
  • Ratios: 1:4, 1:5.
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Orthopedic Patients: Hips, Knees, Shoulders, Spine, fractures General Medical/Surgical – pneumonia, heart failure, sepsis, chest pain, Gi Bleed, diabetes, electrolyte imbalances, kidney failure, UTI.
  • Experience or 'Must have' skills Med/Surg. Ortho preferred.
  • Are RNs required to titrate drips? yes.
  • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Cardizem.
  • Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Yes/Yes.
  • Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes. 8-10:1.
  • RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Cpap/Bipap.
  • Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Yes.
  • Yes, monitor techs.
  • Floating Requirements: Yes. 1st to float.
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: scrubs.
  • Unit/Department specific orientation: EPIC training if not used system within year or fail Sphinx assessment. Online modules. 2 days unit specific orientation.
Additional Details
  • Orientation/Education Hours: Orientation/education hours are not guaranteed during the first 2 week of your assignment. Expect 25+ hours.
  • BLS;**Medical Solutions auto deducts the 1.75 WA state tax - you are able re-add that back in.**
  • ***Region III: Primary to St. Michael Medical Center but if needed, travelers will be required to float throughout Region Three: St Anthony Hospital – Gig Harbor, WA; St. Michael Medical Center – Silverdale, WA.***
  • Float Rate: $20/hr.
