Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Payroll Specialist to join our team at Jobot. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees, while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, especially within the energy sector, and a keen attention to detail. We are looking for someone who can manage and oversee all aspects of payroll processing, including the calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is between $55,000 and $75,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive relocation package, including benefits from day one, 401(k) matching, dental insurance, flexible schedule, flexible spending account, health insurance, life insurance, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of payroll processing, including the calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions.
  • Prepare and file all necessary IRS forms, including W-2s.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of taxable benefits and apply this knowledge in the calculation and distribution of employee compensation.
  • Use Microsoft Office to create spreadsheets, maintain data, and generate reports.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Develop, implement, and manage payroll policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise in the payroll process.
  • Provide support and training to the payroll team.
  • Stay current with changes in payroll and tax laws.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll, with a focus on tax and benefit obligations.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with IRS Form W-2s.
  • Strong understanding of taxable benefits.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
