The Nurse Practitioner plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive medical consultations, routine patient management, and follow-up care as required. This role necessitates specific competencies tailored to diverse patient populations. The position adheres to National Patient Safety Goals, contingent on the level of patient interaction involved.
Key Responsibilities- Conducts thorough patient assessments to gather essential health information.
- Initiates orders for laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other standard diagnostic procedures.
- Identifies actual or potential health issues based on data analysis and formulates appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Prescribes and initiates necessary medications, treatments, and referrals based on clinical evaluations.
- Performs routine medical procedures, including injections, immunizations, suturing (excluding tendons, arteries, or nerves), wound care, and blood draws, while managing uncomplicated conditions arising from infections, trauma, or other medical issues.
- Provides patient education regarding prescribed treatments and medications.
The Nurse Practitioner reports directly to the supervising physician and the Operations Manager of Practice Management.
Physical Demands and Safety ConsiderationsThis position may entail additional physical demands and/or respiratory fit test requirements. For further details, please refer to the Physical Demands Project SharePoint site or consult with Risk Management/Employee Health. The role involves potential exposure to infections, communicable diseases, blood and bodily fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals. Adherence to standard precautions is mandatory.
Qualifications- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in Oklahoma.
- Valid BLS Certification.
- Effective communication skills in English are essential.
