Mortgage Lending Officer Job Description

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Lending Officer to join our team. As a Mortgage Lending Officer, you will be responsible for originating high-quality residential real estate loans for clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consult with customers to understand their financial situation and lending needs.
  • Analyze financial information to determine the customer's eligibility for a particular lending solution.
  • Make recommendations to customers about which lending solutions would best meet their financial and personal objectives.
  • Advise customers about the consequences, risks, and benefits of alternative lending solutions.
  • Promote Citi's brand and lending services to real estate agencies, builders, and other referral sources.
  • Visit customers outside of Citi's offices to provide personalized service.
  • Work with internal partners to support and grow our customers.
  • Refer customers who seek financial services other than lending solutions to the appropriate Citi professionals.
  • Partner with Operations teams to ensure the seamless transfer of loan applications.
  • Work with Processors/Closers and customers to ensure timely loan closings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key referral partners.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments.
Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • 3 years of previous mortgage sales experience required.
  • Residential Mortgage experience required.
  • Established book of business.
  • Proven product sales capability.
  • FHA/VA & conventional loan experience preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives.
  • Ability to communicate with customers about loan requirements.
  • Knowledge of consumer lending laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Strong relationship development and management skills.
  • Expertise in general lending products and mortgage industry.
Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
