Join us in our mission to illuminate the path to better health. As an MRI Imaging Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to operate designated MRI equipment to capture detailed images of patients' bodies for diagnostic evaluation.
Adopting a patient-centric approach, you will deliver MRI services adhering to professional standards while ensuring exceptional customer care. Each patient arrives at our facilities seeking clarity and answers. You will support patients through this sometimes challenging experience by thoughtfully guiding them through the process and addressing their inquiries and concerns regarding the examination procedures. This position is offered on a per diem basis, with varying day shifts available throughout the week.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient MRI Imaging
- Conduct thorough patient screenings prior to examinations, ensuring all precautions and contraindications are addressed using two patient identifiers for accuracy.
- Clearly explain and prepare patients for MRI procedures, positioning them appropriately for optimal imaging.
- Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures on specified body areas for diagnostic purposes, ensuring minimal repeats and providing patient support throughout the process.
- Adjust MRI scanning parameters as necessary to achieve the best possible results.
- Foster positive relationships with radiologists, referring physicians, and colleagues.
- Adhere strictly to physicians' orders and safety regulations to protect yourself, patients, and coworkers.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Keep a clean and organized workspace, promoting safety for patients and staff.
- Ensure compliance with ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.
- Maintain MRI equipment in optimal condition, performing cleaning and disinfection after each use.
- Follow all HIPAA guidelines diligently.
- Assist in keeping the imaging protocol manual updated and support software upgrades.
- Monitor and manage medical supply inventory, requesting supplies as needed.
- Participate in the training of new team members, providing guidance and technical expertise as required.
Qualifications:
- ARRT registered technologist, in good standing.
- Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited radiography program.
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the relevant state, if applicable.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Demonstrated training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently.
- Certification in imaging specialty is preferred.
- Bilingual candidates are a plus.
