Job Summary:

U-Haul is seeking a skilled Vehicle Pre-Inspector to join our team. As a Vehicle Pre-Inspector, you will be responsible for evaluating incoming vehicles to determine repair procedures and diagnose problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough evaluations of equipment through multipoint inspections.
  • Understand and implement U-Haul quality standards.
  • Diagnose and recommend courses of action (parts and labor).
  • Allocate necessary parts and labor on work orders for technicians.
  • Perform basic mechanical repairs as needed.

Requirements:

  • Positive attitude.

  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools.
  • Understanding of automotive/trailer mechanics.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain a clean driving record.

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or chemicals.

May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
