We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at Yoh, A Day & Zimmermann Company. As a Research Scientist, you will play a key role in designing stabilized viral antigens in recombinant protein and mRNA format, performing structural analyses to understand protein flexibility and identify B cell epitopes, and developing novel computational tools for protein modeling and epitope prediction.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Design stabilized viral antigens in recombinant protein and mRNA format, and develop novel computational tools for protein modeling and epitope prediction.
- Structural Analysis: Perform structural analyses to understand protein flexibility and identify B cell epitopes.
- Collaboration: Interact closely with other investigators in research and development of novel vaccine candidates, and participate in scientific discussions focusing on current technology of structural biology.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records and communicate progress and challenges, as necessary.
- Data Analysis: Plan, design, execute, interpret, and present data in an effective and scientific manner.
- Education: PhD in Computational Biology, Biophysics, Structural Biology, or closely-related discipline.
- Experience: Experience in computational protein design is required; experience in antigen design is highly desired.
- Skills: Experience in protein-protein affinity calculation, scripting languages (e.g., Python/R/PERL), protein modeling (homology and ML-based), and sequence analyses is required.
- Tools: Mastery of fundamentals (e.g., thermodynamics, macromolecule physics, force field design, protein design, essential biochemistry) in protein design, and experience with big data, cloud computing, and parallel computing is a plus.
- Compensation: Estimated Min Rate: $45/hr, Estimated Max Rate: $50/hr.
