Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist

Position Overview:

The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for planning and implementing targeted speech therapy interventions aimed at facilitating the habilitation or rehabilitation of individuals experiencing challenges with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic skills, psychosocial aspects, and swallowing functions.

This role involves guiding patients through specific activities designed to develop, enhance, and restore their speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing capabilities, or to help them adapt to any impairments.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting patient assessments and developing treatment plans.
  • Planning for patient discharge and ongoing care.
  • Implementing therapy sessions and documenting patient progress.
  • Adhering to all institutional policies and standards.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned.

It is essential to comply with all regulations to ensure the secure handling of Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients. Annual training on the appropriate use of PHI in the workplace is mandatory.


Qualifications:

Education and Credentials:
Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited institution is required. Must hold a valid license to practice Speech-Language Therapy in the State of Ohio.

Experience and Skills:

The position requires proficiency in evaluating and treating patients, with skills tailored to the developmental and chronological age of those on the caseload.

Candidates must demonstrate initiative, objectivity, effective time management, and strong interpersonal skills.

Physical and cognitive capabilities are necessary to provide patient care, assist with transfers, and manage therapeutic equipment.
