About the Role

PTS Advance is seeking a highly skilled Process Control Engineer to join our team. As a Process Control Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our refinery's control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Automation Technical Support: Provide technical support for our Distributed Control System (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
  • Control Logic Development: Develop and maintain control logic, HMI, alarms, and other control engineer applications to meet operational and economic objectives.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and develop complex control logic to meet operational and economic objectives.
  • Documentation and Communication: Create and revise Cause and Effect diagrams, detailed control system narrative documents, and apply HMI best practices to control system graphics.
  • Project Commissioning: Commission new control system hardware and I/O projects, including Vapor Recovery, Burner Management, Compressor Control, and Motor Control systems.
  • Alarm Management: Participate in alarm management improvement efforts and manage data reporting through control system historian and PI interfaces.
  • Communication Protocols: Build DCS communication interfaces, including Modbus, OPC, DeviceNet, and DSA.
  • Process Hazard Lifecycle: Understand process hazard lifecycle and associated functional safety and SIS applications.
  • PSM Activities: Support and lead Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including Management of Change, HAZOP, and LOPA.
  • Troubleshooting and Incident Investigations: Perform troubleshooting and incident investigations.
Requirements
  • Education: Must have a degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience: Must have at least 4 years of Process Controls or Process Engineering experience in a refinery, petro-chemical, or other related heavy industry.
  • Skills: Must be proficient in Microsoft: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Compensation

$60-$85/hr
