Job Description

At First Steps Recovery, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Detox Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our residential detoxification program, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to individuals struggling with addiction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough admissions and intake assessments to ensure accurate and effective treatment planning.
  • Provide direct care and support to residents, including medication management, daily living activities, and emotional support.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Document resident progress and maintain accurate records in our electronic health record system.
  • Facilitate group and individual therapy sessions to promote recovery and well-being.
  • Develop and implement educational programs to promote healthy lifestyle choices and addiction prevention.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in addiction treatment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in addiction treatment or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent interruptions.
  • May be required to work in emergency situations, including crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
