The Job
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Veterinarian who shares our passion for animal care. As a Veterinarian with us, you will be responsible for:
- Providing exceptional patient care through physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and preventive care.
- Utilizing a problem-based approach to develop complete problem lists, differential diagnoses, diagnostic plans, and treatments based on test results.
- Documenting patient observations, findings, treatments, and interactions in a concise and detailed manner.
- Performing routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays/neuters, abdominal exploratory, and mass removals.
- Developing treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization and communicating effectively with referral hospitals.
- Participating in rounds as incoming or exiting doctor and disseminating knowledge to staff to improve care and communication.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state where the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date.
- Current DEA license.
- USDA Category I (minimum) Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Compassion and sympathy, with the ability to maintain a professional attitude during emotional situations.
- Telephone and computer skills.
- Comfort performing anesthesia and routine surgeries, including spays, neuters, mass removals, and dentals.
- A strong commitment to teamwork and willingness to learn new techniques and treatments.
Work Environment
This role requires working in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment, with frequent interaction with clients and their pets. You will be expected to spend extended periods standing, bending, and lifting (up to 30 pounds).
Estimated Salary Range
$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
