Job SummaryThe Assistant Baseball Coach is a key member of the Stetson University Baseball team, reporting directly to the Head Men's Baseball Coach. This role is responsible for supporting the administration of all aspects of the men's baseball program, ensuring compliance with NCAA Division I rules and philosophies.
Key Responsibilities- Coaching and teaching student-athletes in hitting, offensive skills, and infield techniques on a NCAA Division I level.
- Evaluating and teaching current student-athletes in the program.
- Assisting in the coordination and preparation for all pre-, in-, and post-season training, practices, and games.
- Managing donor services, stewardship, and strategic communication in relation to the annual fund and the Melching Stadium renovation campaign.
- Coordinating and executing all donor hospitality and fundraising events for Stetson University Baseball.
- Motivating and inspiring student-athletes to excel in the classroom and on the field.
- Assisting the Men's Baseball Coach in the administration of all aspects of the men's baseball program.
- Identifying, evaluating, and recruiting prospective student-athletes.
- Managing a portfolio of donors and prospects, identifying, soliciting, and cultivating benefactors for annual gifts for athletics.
- Overseeing stewardship planning for Major Gifts & Planned Giving.
- Developing new sources for fundraising and revenue.
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of appropriate public relations, fund-raising, and promotional activities as necessary.
- Attending functions related to the baseball program as a representative of the Hatter Athletic Fund.
- Preparing and executing written communications and strategically planned communication.
- Managing all donor and special events, including planning, invitations, staffing, and implementation.
- A Bachelor's degree required.
- 2-5 years demonstrated college coaching experience in coaching baseball.
- A commitment to the academic goals of Stetson University.
- Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations.
- A commitment to adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations of the NCAA and ASUN Conference.
- A valid Florida driver's license and insurable driving record.
- A Master's degree.
- Ability to lead with integrity and positively influence the lives and athletic careers of the student-athletes on the baseball team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Superb organization skills to effectively manage and lead the baseball program.
