POSITION OVERVIEW

The Student Affairs Administrator plays a crucial role within the administrative team of the Donald Ralph Cooke School, focusing on the effective management of daily school operations, particularly in attendance, behavioral support, and disciplinary intervention services. This role requires a commitment to inclusivity and a willingness to engage in training for Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) methodologies. The Student Affairs Administrator will supervise the Youth Care Assistants assigned to the school and collaborate with other staff as directed by the Director of Education. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Director of Education. This position reports directly to the Director of Education and is not eligible for overtime compensation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following responsibilities illustrate the diverse range of tasks associated with this position. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Provides one-on-one counseling for students.
  • Communicates with the Director of Education regarding each student's behavioral progress.
  • Maintains familiarity with educational tools and materials utilized in the program.
  • Acts as an emergency substitute teacher when required.
  • Assists the Director of Education in assessing and procuring necessary educational resources within budget constraints.
  • Supports educators in developing and implementing behavior management strategies.
  • Facilitates after-school behavioral intervention programs as needed.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and upkeep of academic spaces; promptly reports maintenance needs.
  • Keeps accurate records and fulfills other administrative responsibilities.
  • Participates in staff meetings, team discussions, mandated training, and professional development sessions.
  • Guides students in acquiring job skills and personal responsibilities related to their educational objectives.
  • Provides transportation for students to work, school, and community events as necessary.
  • Serves as a key member of the TBRI implementation team, offering recommendations for enhancing implementation and coordinating staff development activities related to TBRI.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelor's degree or higher is required for this position, preferably in Education, Social Work, or a related field. A minimum of two years of teaching experience or experience working with at-risk youth in a behavioral intervention context is preferred.

Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $42,250 Annually
