Job Description

This CMA will support our Family Medicine Team (RNs, Physicians, and other providers) by providing direct patient care and contributing to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. This position is eligible for a $2500 sign-on bonus.

Patient Care and Monitoring
  • Perform routine assessments such as measuring vital signs, recording patient histories, and observing symptoms to assist in diagnosing and monitoring patient health.
Assisting with Procedures
  • Support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures by preparing equipment, assisting with patient positioning, and ensuring proper infection control.
Medication Administration
  • Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral drugs, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects, ensuring accurate documentation.
Coordination of Care
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, and assist in coordinating follow-up appointments and referrals.
Job Benefits

Licensure/Certification Qualifications
  • Current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, with certification required within one year of hire
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the relevant state
