Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Travel Nurse Across America. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing radiopharmaceutical agents and administering them to patients prior to using a scanner or camera to capture images.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Attaining required approval and signature by nuclear medicine physicians
  • Transferring, positioning, and instructing patients in preparation for procedures
  • Operating the scanner or gamma scintillation camera
  • Performing procedures, including injecting radiopharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a radiologist
  • Providing assistance to patients during procedures
  • Ensuring the environment is safe at all times for patients and staff by following safety and radiation disposal procedures
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Understanding and using the McKesson PACS system

To be successful in this role, you will need to have 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. You must also have BLS, ARRT (N) National Certification with registration in Nuclear Medicine or NMTCB-CNMT, and state-specific licensing when required.
