Sonoma State University is seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time lecturer position in Native American Studies. The successful candidate will teach lower and upper division courses in the department's curriculum, with a focus on decolonial pedagogies and inter/trans-disciplinary approaches.
About the DepartmentThe Native American Studies Department at Sonoma State University is a vibrant and growing program that offers a minor and is developing a major. The department is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment, and we are seeking a candidate who shares this commitment.
Responsibilities- Teach lower and upper division courses in the department's curriculum, with a focus on decolonial pedagogies and inter/trans-disciplinary approaches.
- Develop and implement curriculum that reflects the department's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Collaborate with department faculty and staff to develop and implement departmental initiatives.
- Participate in departmental service, including academic advising and committee work.
- M.A. required, ABD or Ph.D. preferred, in one or more areas of Native American and Indigenous Studies.
- Two or more years of teaching experience.
- Commitment to working with a diverse student population.
