Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse Loader to join our team at Westfield Steel Inc. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for loading and unloading materials in and/or outside the warehouse, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and unload materials onto or from trailers and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Transport materials from storage or worksites to designated areas using an overhead crane, forklift, hand truck, electric dolly, or other device.
  • Secure lifting attachments to materials and convey load destination, using hand-operated crane or hoist, or signal crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information bundles and skids of materials.
  • May train new hires in the proper policies and procedures in relation to the position.
  • Maintain and compile records as required and record heat numbers on the pull reports.
  • May assist Production Manager or other Supervisors in other duties and special projects as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 0-2 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior overhead crane and forklift experience.
  • Prior flatbed truck loading experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Working overtime may be required to complete the loading duties required that night.
